GRAND RAPIDS, MI, OCTOBER 25, 2016 – Fireboy-Xintex has been selected by a panel of judges to receive the Innovation Award for the new CG and MA Series fire suppression systems. Fireboy-Xintex accepted this award at The International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference held October 4-6, 2016.
The new CG and MA Series fire extinguishers feature the use of the 3M™ Novec™ 1230 Fire Protection Fluid. This clean agent offers:
- Very low Global Warming Potential (GWP<1)
- Low toxicity in a properly designed system (no harm to personnel)
- No damage to sensitive equipment
- Not targeted for emission reduction or phase-out
- 3M™ Blue SkySM warranty – 20 year protection against environmental regulation
The CG clean agent extinguisher is designed for smaller engine rooms up to 1,000 ft³ and deploys protection fluid from the nozzle automatically. The MA Series clean agent extinguisher was crafted for larger engine rooms up to 1,800 ft³ and deploys protection fluid from the nozzle automatically or manually with a Fireboy Manual Discharge Cable. Both designs in this series utilize a heavy-duty mounting bracket and are approved for Class B fires in engine rooms, machinery spaces, and similar industrial environments. Larger GA systems are also available with 3M™ Novec™ 1230 to protect enclosed spaces up to 4,000 cu. ft.
